Freshly Picked Food

My mission is to get people to eat more plants. That’s why I started Plant Futures in 2019.

Plant Futures Presentation in São Paulo, Brazil, December 2024

About Plant Futures

Plant Futures began with a bold idea: what if we could transform the future of our food system by investing in the next generation of leaders?

What started as a single course at UC Berkeley has grown into a global community of students, educators, and professionals who believe that food can be a powerful tool for justice, health, and sustainability. Today, as a global nonprofit, Plant Futures is a mission-driven initiative dedicated to accelerating the transition to a plant-centered world – one student, one campus, and one conversation at a time.

We believe that lasting change starts with education, real-world experience, and human connection.

That’s why we design programs that go beyond the classroom, offering students the chance to explore the food system from every angle: policy, business, ethics, nutrition, and beyond. And we connect them with a vibrant, values-aligned network of mentors, peers, and innovators who are leading this movement across the globe.

Our Mission

To empower the next generation of ethical leaders, systems thinkers, and passionate advocates with the education, tools, and community they need to build a more just, regenerative, and plant-forward future. Because when young people align their values with their careers – the impact is exponential.

And this movement is just getting started. You can learn more about our work and join the movement on our website.
